About the Playwright Jane Shepard An award-winning playwright, screenwriter and film-maker, Shepard is the recipient of The 2007 Frank Pisco Playwrighting Commission, as well as a Sloan Foundation Grant, the Berrilla Kerr Playwrighting Award, a Jane Chambers Prize, The Robert Chelsey Award for Best Emerging Playwright, and New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships in both playwrighting and screenwriting. Her screenplay FREAK CITY was nominated for a Writer’s Guild Award when it was produced as Showtime Original Movie, and she is Writer/ Director/ Co-Producer of the award-winning featurette NINE, which was seen in festivals nationally.
